A global medical device company with industry-leading innovative products is searching for Senior System Administrator (DevOps Linux).

The Senior Systems Administrator will design, implement and support the high load Big Data analytics solution in AWS and will work closely with BI and Data Science teams. This position will also be responsible for the provisioning and deployment of new systems. This individual will lead and demonstrate Systems proficiency, build sustainable/scalable environments needed to support the business model.

Responsibilities:

• Cloud Engineering: Contribute to the movement towards AWS based hosting and architecture, work on a platform that allows development teams to push their changes into fresh EC2 instances in mere minutes.
• Configuration Management & Software Deployment: Design, development and implementation of solutions to automate deployments. Contribute to continual rollout of Chef/Ansible-based deployment automation across multiple Test and Production environments, author and maintain cookbooks, perform related training.
• IT Operations: Maintain up-time and troubleshoot problems in active Dev, QA, and Production environments, along with development and deployment infrastructure.
• Demonstrate and share domain expertise to educate the surrounding team members to increase the collective knowledge of the team.
• Identify GAPS in current processes as they apply to the environment that this position supports and maintains; then update and maintain the process documentation.

Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to perform under pressure situations, while developing sound implementation approaches which solve the business problem or environment which they support are a plus.

Required Experience:

• BS in CS or Information Systems is desired, or equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience in the Information Technology Industry.
• 2+ years of Configuration Management solutions such as Chef (preferred), Ansible.
• Adequate Linux and some Windows sysadmin skills to understand, support and troubleshoot our infrastructure and applications.
• Strong scripting skills to be able to code deployment scripts and other tools and related systems.
• Experience with container-based technologies (Docker).
• Experience working in a Cloud Computing environment as Software/Operations/DevOps Engineer (AWS preferred).

Nice to have:

• Field experience with container orchestration tools: Docker, Rancher.
• Expertise in Infrastructure As Code tools: CloudFormation (preferred), Terraform, StackMaster, AWS CLI.
